USP Team

Solomon Lister

Clinical Coordinator

Prior to joining USP, I worked as a social psychology lab manager for the Honesty, Opportunity, Prosociality & Ethics (HOPE) Lab and the Center for Decision Research at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. I developed my passion for clinical psychology and mental health through my research on ethical decision-making and my volunteer work teaching high schoolers. I am primarily interested in OCD and anxiety disorders, couples therapy, and performance psychology, and I intend to pursue a career as a therapist.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is connecting directly with people and meeting them where they’re at. It’s a privilege to be able to listen to people share about their backgrounds, then help them find the highest quality of care.

What’s something people might be surprised to learn about you?

People might not know that I grew up playing competitive chess. Chess helped me learn how to think creatively and analytically, and I still enjoy playing online every day.

What is a self-care ritual you practice?

I set aside time each evening to unwind by listening to podcasts and working on my French skills. My most important self-care ritual is extending my Duolingo streak!
