Sophia Pavlatos

PMHNP-BC

I am a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner specializing in psychopharmacology. I work with adults who are experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, and OCD. My nursing background is in women’s health, and I am particularly interested in the mental health needs of women across different life stages. This includes the treatment of premenstrual dysphoric disorder, pregnancy and postpartum depression, and perimenopausal and postmenopausal depression.

What should I expect in our first session?

In our first session we will speak at length about your history, prior treatment, and reasons for seeking care. We will set goals and create a plan based on your priorities.

How do you describe your treatment approach?

My approach is collaborative and integrative. We’ll work together to create a personalized plan that meets your needs. This might include discussing lifestyle adjustments in addition to medication, if appropriate. My aim is always to provide a supportive environment where a comfortable and trusting relationship can unfold with each client.

What inspired you to get into mental health?

While working in women’s health, I became acutely aware of the intersection of physical and mental health. Simultaneously, I became concerned with the lack of support I saw patients receiving, in particular during transitional periods of life such as adolescence, peripartum and menopause.
