Sara Simon

Director of Outreach

As Director of Outreach at Union Square Practice, I am passionate about connecting individuals with the mental health resources they need. Originally from San Diego, California, I now call New York City home. Yes, I know what you’re thinking. I traded 70-degree weather and a laid-back lifestyle for the hustle and bustle of NYC. But honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is meeting people whose eyes light up when they hear about the type of work I do. Seeing in their eyes that this is the exact type of help they’ve been searching for reinforces my passion for mental health and the importance of connecting people with the right resources.

In another life, if you weren’t working here, what would you be doing?

I’ve always had the idea of opening an acai bowl shop back in California. Think of it as a frozen yogurt style setup, but for acai bowls!

What is a self-care ritual you practice?

My father taught me how to meditate when I was eight years old, and I make it a habit to meditate every morning. I also work out several times a week and aim to put my phone away two hours before bed to help me fall asleep faster.
