Tiffany Melendez

Assistant Practice Manager

As the Assistant Practice Manager at Union Square Practice, I am dedicated to ensuring smooth daily operations while supporting our clinicians and enhancing the patient experience. With a strong background in healthcare administration and process improvement, I focus on optimizing workflows, increasing operational efficiency, and maintaining a positive environment for both staff and patients. I am passionate about creating systems that allow our team to deliver exceptional care and making sure our patients feel valued every step of the way.

What’s the most rewarding part of your job?

The most rewarding part of my job is creating the structure and support that allows both our team and our patients to thrive. In a busy practice, every detail matters, from the way we schedule appointments to how we communicate as a team. I find real purpose in making sure those details are handled thoughtfully, so that our clinicians can focus on care, and our patients feel seen, heard, and valued from the moment they walk in.

I’m especially passionate about building strong teams. When people feel supported and clear in their roles, they’re more engaged and collaborative, and that energy translates directly into better care. Knowing that I’ve played a part in creating that foundation, and watching how it improves the patient experience, is what motivates me every day.

In another life, if you weren’t working in counseling, what would you be doing?

If I weren’t working in healthcare operations, I imagine I’d be an epidemiologist. My background in public health sparked a deep interest in how data and research can shape real-world health outcomes. I was always drawn to the idea of tracking trends, understanding disease patterns, and contributing to solutions that improve community health on a broad scale. While my path led me into the operational side of healthcare, that same curiosity and commitment to impact still guide my work every day.

What’s something your clients might be surprised to learn about you?

I’m really passionate about candle making and reading. Candle making is my way of tapping into creativity and mindfulness. It’s a therapeutic process that allows me to slow down and focus on the simple joy of crafting something by hand. When I’m not making candles, you can usually find me reading. I love getting lost in a good book, whether it’s fiction or something that helps me grow professionally. Both activities help me stay grounded and inspired, which I think ultimately benefits my work and the way I approach challenges.

What is a self-care ritual you practice?

A self-care ritual I practice is spending time in nature, especially when I need to clear my mind or recharge. Whether it’s a quiet moment by the water, sitting in a park, or simply enjoying the beauty of the outdoors, being surrounded by nature always helps me feel more centered. I find that it’s the perfect way to disconnect from daily stress, gain a fresh perspective, and reconnect with myself. Nature has a calming effect on me, and I always feel rejuvenated after spending time outdoors.
