Liz Kauffelt (she/her/hers) is a mental health counselor who works with adolescent and adult clients of all backgrounds. Liz’s counseling approach is founded on client-centered principles, meaning she believes in establishing an authentic, genuine relationship with all clients. Through this approach, she strives to build trust in a non-judgmental space. She collaborates with clients to establish goals and additionally utilizes psychodynamic, CBT, IFS, and mindfulness techniques depending on client needs.
Her experience includes working with individuals dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, low self-esteem, and relationship issues. Additionally, Liz assists clients in working through career or school related stress. Prior to counseling, Liz had over ten years of experience working in the corporate world of fashion, giving her a deep understanding of how a fast-paced and demanding work environment can affect one’s well-being.

- Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a BA in Marketing and Retail Merchandising from Ohio University
- Graduated Summa Cum Laude with a MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University
- Part of the Emerging Scholar program at Northwestern, assisting in research and the creation of psychoeducational materials in various areas of mental health
- Internship experience working with clients of diverse backgrounds in a private practice setting. Liz worked with individuals, families, and groups, co-leading a psychoeducational group on Positive Parenting
